TCS Launches Oracle AI Data Lab in Kolkata, Plans Expansion to 4 More Cities

In a major boost to India's artificial intelligence ecosystem, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has launched the country's first Oracle AI Data Platform Lab and Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Kolkata. Located at Delta Park Lords in Salt Lake Sector V, the new facility has been established in collaboration with Oracle to help enterprises accelerate AI adoption, modernise data infrastructure, and deploy AI-powered applications at scale. TCS also announced plans to expand the Oracle AI Lab model to four additional Indian cities over the next three years.

The Kolkata-based AI lab is designed to help organisations overcome common barriers to enterprise AI adoption, including fragmented data systems, slow analytics, limited scalability, and operational inefficiencies. Built on the Oracle AI Data Platform, the facility integrates Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), the Oracle Autonomous AI Database, and OCI Enterprise AI, enabling businesses to transform enterprise data into actionable insights while accelerating intelligent automation and AI-driven decision-making.

According to TCS, the new Centre of Excellence will provide customers with reusable AI architectures, industry-specific solutions, pre-built accelerators, and expert consulting support to move rapidly from AI experimentation to full-scale enterprise deployment. The initiative also leverages TCS's nationwide network of 26,000 Oracle-skilled professionals, strengthening the company's capabilities in advanced AI engineering, cloud-native applications, intelligent data platforms, and next-generation analytics.

The expansion reflects the growing strategic partnership between TCS and Oracle as enterprises increasingly invest in AI-ready infrastructure and data-driven digital transformation. Industry experts believe the planned rollout of similar Oracle AI Data Platform Labs across four more Indian cities will help businesses accelerate innovation, improve operational efficiency, and support the development of secure, scalable AI ecosystems across multiple sectors, including banking, healthcare, manufacturing, retail, and public services.

With the launch of India's first Oracle AI Data Platform Lab in Kolkata, TCS has reinforced the city's position as an emerging technology and innovation hub while strengthening India's AI capabilities. The initiative supports the country's broader digital transformation agenda and positions TCS to play a leading role in enabling enterprises to harness artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and advanced analytics for sustainable business growth.
