Tata Power Renewable Expands India's Clean Energy Capacity
Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL) has further strengthened India's renewable energy portfolio by commissioning a 100.8 MW wind power project in Dharashiv, Maharashtra. The newly operational facility will supply clean electricity to Mumbai, reinforcing the company's commitment to accelerating India's transition toward sustainable energy.
The project is expected to provide green power to nearly 8 lakh consumers while significantly reducing carbon emissions and dependence on conventional fossil fuels. By integrating additional wind generation into the grid, Tata Power continues to improve the reliability and sustainability of electricity supply for one of India's largest metropolitan regions.
With this commissioning, Tata Power Renewable Energy continues to expand its rapidly growing clean energy portfolio, which includes utility-scale solar, wind, hybrid, and battery storage projects across the country. The company is simultaneously executing several renewable energy projects that will further increase its operational capacity over the coming years.
The expansion aligns with Tata Power's long-term strategy of increasing the share of renewable energy in its generation mix while supporting India's target of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel power capacity by 2030.
