Bihar to launch helicopter joyrides over Patna, offering 10-minute rides at ₹2,100 per person

The Bihar government is set to introduce weekend helicopter joyrides over Patna under the Mukhyamantri Bihar Heli-Tourism and Air Tourism Scheme 2026, offering visitors a unique bird's-eye view of the state capital. The service is scheduled to begin on July 15, with tickets priced at ₹2,100 per person.

Each helicopter ride will last 10 minutes, with four flights operating every Saturday and Sunday from 3:00 PM onwards at 30-minute intervals. The helicopter will accommodate up to five passengers per flight, ensuring a safe and comfortable aerial sightseeing experience. Bookings will be managed online by the Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation (BSTDC) through a dedicated digital ticketing platform.

The initiative aims to promote tourism by showcasing Patna's iconic landmarks from the air while making helicopter travel accessible through subsidised fares. The first phase of the scheme will run for six months, and the state government also plans to expand helicopter and regional air connectivity to destinations such as Rajgir, Valmikinagar, and Kaimur in the future.
